For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.deggers - many moons ago I used to compile the telephone directories for BT (lovely job). I don't know if the policy has changed but The Yellow Pages were kept up to date by BT passing on updated info e.g. number changes - Thomsons were not and frequently had out of date numbers when they went to print.
I'm a team leader for Deya Ltd, which is the company responsible for delivering all of the Yellow Pages throughout the UK.
We're currently about to start delivering the new Cambridge Yellow Pages and, as always, I've been sent a big pile of 'VIP cards' for the area we're about to deliver to. Many of those cards tell the delivery staff to follow certain directions (e.g. 'Do not put through letterbox' or 'Leave in porch or hand to neighbour') but the big pile of blue cards are all simply marked 'Do not deliver to this address'. i.e. there are plenty of people who've told Yell not to deliver Yellow Pages to their house. To do so yourself, phone 0800 555 444.
