Problem Peugeot
1 Answers
My 406 2.0 HPI Executive is 31 months old and has been prone to engine faults resulting in peugeot fitting a new engine last month. Since then twice in an eight day period I have had to be towed by RAC to main dealer after the car just died. I have written to Peugeot seeking compensation as I have been out of pocket for additional insurance for loan cars and also missed business appointments.I do not know what my legal rights are as I have now lost faith in the car. Onc the problems have been fixed insist on a full service, paid for by them, then avoid supermarjet petrol like the plague. I promise, you won't regret it.
As you have had the car for so long I think you have very few rights, though it is reasonable to expect them to provide a courtesy vehicle at their cost, so I think they should re-imburse you this cost that you have incurred, but I suspect that they will argue over much more. I would suggest that you ask the dealer to warranty the vehicle for another year out of goodwill.
