It's down to will power really, if you can give up fags you should be able to give up fatty junk food and chocolate and lose loads of weight by eating healthily and taking exercise.

Id say for one thing, eat until your not hungry NOT until your full. Drinks LOADS of water, tea, coffee....or any liquids that dont contain too much sugar (like juice or soft drinks). Dont eat after 6pm, or at least dont eat carbs after 6. Have snacks to munch on for the ciggarette cravings and to stop you from pigging out...like celery, carrots or pumpkin seeds. They probably dont sound appealing but they are pretty goood and do the job. Dont eat to much fat..ofcourse, or sugars. Good luck. And dont feel your punishing yourself, see it as your rewarding yourself...with a healthier body. Its all about the attitude

In 3 weeks you're not really going to be able to shift that much. Why not aim for a few pounds, have one of those wraps that temporaily take you down a dress size or 2 and buy a really excellent outfit.  Well tailored clothes can sometimes do it.  Don't pop pills or go for some crazy diet (might cause probs if your breastfeeding?  and isn't hat supposed to be great for dropping pounds anyway?). I really hope you get to feel great on the day - if you sort your head out about the weight it won't matter that much anyway - that baby's the top prize! the extra layers will come off and if you pick a good outfit and make an effort with hair and make up you'll look just fabulous anyway.
It takes a while to lose baby weight...if you're breastfeeding, I would stay away from pills or fad diets.  I know it's not the easiest solution, but exercise would at least tighten up some flabby areas left from pregnancy.  Another idea - it costs a bit more, but some of your higher-end shops have stylish, figure-concealing clothes for plus-sized women.  (Think of folks like Oprah Winfrey who managed to look quite attractive whild carrying extra weight.)  Good luck!

thank you all for the advice. i'm not breast feeding. but i do need to loose this weight fast! please anyone with some advice on pills. i am drinking lots of water. help me please!

The weight you put on in pregnancy is designed to make milk, so it can be very difficult to shift it. Think of butter and cream - that's milk fat.

The easiest way I know to lose weight is to breast feed! Lovely and cuddly, healthier for both you and the baby, and much cheaper than buying baby milk and slimming pills. I weighed less when my second son was a few months old than I had before I became pregnant with the first one - I keep thinking I need to have another one, to get rid of my current extra pounds!
