Was driving my car this morning

and went down the little side street where I normally park my car and there was an old lady walking in the road and I couldn't get past, she didn't move out of my way so I thought perhaps she might have been hard of hearing plus my car engine is very quiet so I beeped at her (as nicely as I could) just a toot and she gave me the most miserable glare ever!

Maybe I would park in the 'designated' car park if it were cheaper or if I was earning a higher wage but in economy crisis times can you blame if I don't. Why don't I catch a bus I hear you ask? Maybe I would if they were on time and there were less general public on there but I would rather not pay the earth for the privelge of sitting next to a smelly, germ ridden person and getting to my destination late.

I wasn't thinking at all about you catching the bus. I don't like buses either. It's sad that you cannot afford car parking charges too. Parking is a problem for lots of people, but maybe a little humour where the old lady was concerned might have been better, rather than moaning on here about it?
I tried to inject humour with my response about my father and his stick.................

When I first had my hip done, walking on the pavement was a very real problem because of all the dropped pavements for cars - it was like walking on a cakewalk - up, down, up, down.
I really did find it agony and had to walk in the road where at least the surface was level. Of course I wasn't able to drive either.

hmm i think this has got a bit lost in translation!
All angel21 said was that the old lady was waiting in the road and she thought perhaps she didn't know she was there, so she beeped her horn.
"The sole purpose of a car horn is to make a noise in order to alert other road users to your presence or approach."
The only reason the lady should give her a glare was if she knew damn well she was coming, surely? She could've been waiting there all day!
