Employment Tribunals

Can anyone advise me on preparing a Schedule of Loss for an Employment Tribunal. It is under the Disability Discrimination Act.
Unfortunately Legal Advice is not freely available for Employment Issues (another issue in itself!)...and to cut a long story short, I have taken a company to a Tribunal on behalf of my diasabled daughter.

We have had a Case Management Hearing, and the case has been set for a 2 day hearing.
The Judge advised me to get help on preparing the Schedule, but everywhere I try...they cannot help as it is an Employment Issue (even the disability support networks)...unless I pay at least �160 an hour for a Solicitor. All they have advised is to look at Vento.

I know roughly what to do...from downloading on the net, but would really appreciate a little bit of help?

By the way...I have posted this as a last resort....and after careful consideration. But I really would appreciate any advice.

is your daughter in a union? - they will help
is your daughter still employed? - they might have an employee assisstance programme
does your/her house insurance have legal cover (some do)

Thanks bednobs, she only works part time, and has left where she was. I am still taking the case to the Tribunal though. I have managed all the paperwork etc myself, and it has all gone through alright. I have just been asked to get this Schedule together and would have welcomed some advice.

Hi Dont worry too much about this. Just write it down in the best way you can. The people at the tribunal are not ogres. I too took a company to a tribunal after I was conveiniently made redundant after I developed cancer. I couldnt afford legal fees so did it myself and they helped me on the day. I won my case and �30000 on compensation. One of the major items on my schedule of loss was the fact that I had life insurance which I could not replace as no-one would give someone with cancer life cover. I was awarded �15000 for the loss of this cover. The rest was made up of loss of wages etc. Good luck . My best advice is stay calm.

Citizens Advice help for free. Tribunals are often prepared by lay people.

A schedule of exes/losses/costs & compensation needs to be submitted before the tribunal - ready for you winning your case....good luck!
