MM Links Solutions February 2009 [Week 3]

The third week in the reign of Queen Dustybun was launched ever so smoothly ~ in fact as smooth as a baby's bottom! Based on the theme Mrs Bun the Baker, her chosen links were as follows:

Flour SIFTER
MARROW Fat
Oven READY
Bread SAUCE

I am always interested in how a name is selected for AnswerBank. As the Bard once said "What's in a name? A Bun by any other name would taste as sweet!"

This week, the front runners began bunching, just waiting for the final sprint to the line.

The game began with a stunning performance by roslyn251254 who introduced her recipe for FOUR POINTS ~ namely OVEN READY! BREAD SAUCE! With no further messing about I nominate her as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!
*** Let trumpets sound and cannon roar ***
*** Let the people cheer and shout �Encore� ***

With the game opening on two hits, there was a two-minute window set aside for early repeats and a string of bonus-pointers followed including slaney, x-ray, centrino & Dinkypuzzled each claiming their TWO POINTS. Next came a couple who could have benefiting from pre-warming their ovens since pauline & cliffyg were just a little too late with their �Oven Readies� and each scored only ONE POINT.

At 09.05,cliffyg turned up with OVEN READY and MARROW FAT to score a magnificent THREE POINTS and was followed by several single hitters. In the midst came patchett with a very credible double hit (for TWO POINTS). The very last link to fall was FLOUR SIFTER which went to fred1941. This is not the first time that Fred has attracted the eye of the scorer.

I wonder what Queen Dusty has in store for her last week?
