why is that after a rather heavy night out, I can't stop eating when I'm hungover the next day.  I'll normally get food on teh way home from the pub/club so it's not like I'm hungry for breakfast when I wake up.

I can consume a bacon sandwich for breakfast, big pile of pasta for lunch and inevitabley a big dinner too,all this accompanied with lots of water and tea and yet about 20 minutes after eating any of these my stomach is literally rumbling again.  Why is this?  It's terrrible if I'm trying to watch my weight.  A whole day of just eating can't be good.

After a binge on drink your salt content is diminshed so your body craves these sorts of foods, i used to find it more sugars but i think it depends on what you drink when your out, though now i stick to wine i do find myself craving more savoury foods.
then you've never had a true hangover.if you can eat, your not hung. and if your trying to watch your weight then you shouldn't be drinking. that'll pack on the pounds. looking at your name do you like  jim morrison? he was the drunk of all drunks. gotta love him!
Same here Morrisonker... I'm absolutley ravenous when I'm hungover & all I want is savoury stuff... & loads of it!  No idea why tho...
i'm pretty sure getting drunk really lowers your blood sugar level which is one of the reasons why its dangerous for diabetics and alcoholism can cause diabetes. lower blood sugar tires you out and makes you crave food, for energy. i think : )
