Some schools store them for years and years. Some sell them off in book sales. Many of them have the books recycled (ie pulped). Some do all three in that order.

Thank you for that, I just wondered if there was some book fair for ex school books as I am purchasing some books that I used to read at school through Ebay and it is costing me a small future.
