How do I take a screen shot of a web page.

Press Print Screen (Prt Sc) on your keyboard whilst viewing in, then open somewhere to paste it and hit ctrl+v.

Just pressing print screen gives you the whole desktop.

If you want JUST the window then you need to make that the active window (just select on the border of the window to make it active)

Then hold down the ALT key then press print screen.

This is then put in the clipboard and you can paste it anywhere you like.

you might have problems pasting it into explorer, nero, media player, calculator, notepad .... and about a thousand other progs

the image is best pasted into an image editor - paint is included in windows ... or maybe word - if you don't have word .... wordpad will work (and also comes with windows.

c'mon ACtheTROLL no need to be so pedantic, you know what I meant.

You can paste in anywere you like that has "paste" capability, like a word processor or image editor.

No it does not, pressing prt scr ON ITS OWN takes a picture of the whole desktop.

As I said in my append, you need to hold down the ALT key as well if you want just a picture of the active window.

I only asked a question I didn't intend to start a war. Thanks for the advice. It doesn't work too well in word but does in excel.

we should have asked what you intended to do with the screenshot
and noticing you said a webpage for the first time ... could also have included the info that you can create a self contained file that contains all the page elements which you can either save or e-mail

display the page ... then
file | save as | ....
keep the format as .mht and leave the name of the page as it is (I've had problems when changing it)

alternatively
in word first adjust the doc so you are seeing it at 100%
(if needed remember you can increase the work space by either reducing the margins ... and/or flipping the page to landscape

try resizing the pikkie single click it then either grab (I tend to use a corner) and drag the pikkie bigger

or right click and from the menu | format picture | size
and fiddle 'till it's right

the main point I was trying to make is that as you've found ... some progs deal with pictures better than others - and realy a pikkie should be pasted into an app designed to display pictures

it depends what you are wanting
