can i get my money back????
i got a nissan almera in january, and now my wife is having twins so i went to look at a people carrier with the view of doing a (part-ex). the owner of the people carrier noticed that it has been involved in a crash and has had a lot of welding done to it
i was not told about this when i payed for it. do i stand a chance getting my money back. i did a check with (mycarcheck.com) and it doesnt say its had a crash
please can you help?????

Sorry, I read this as the person selling the people carrier noticed that the Almera needed welding - correct?
Realistically, for you to get your money back on the Almera, you would need to be able to prove that the person you purchased the vehicle from was aware of the pre-existing damage, and in turn did not tell you about it. Realistically, you've not really got much of a chance unfortunately.
In regards top doing a HPI check on a vehicle, this will only show if a car has been written off, stolen, or stolen and recovered - it won;t show if it has been involved in an accident where an insurer has repaired it, nor will it show accidents that did not go via the insurer (for obvious reasons). We have our own internal industry databases to show if a car has been involved in any sort of incident, but it not something available to the public.

I agree with Zacs - Your version is very ambiguous. But if you are simply saying that you went and bought this people carrier and found out afterwards about the welding which had been done, you would at least have the following options:
1. If you bought it from a franchised/registered car dealer you could possibly have a claim against them for having supplied you with an unroadworthy vehicle.
2. If you bought it from a private individual, then you will have virtually no come back because of the "caveat emptor" ("buyer beware") law which puts the responsibility on you, the buyer, to satisfy yourself about the vehicle before parting with your cash.
3. Unless you and the other party agreed something in writing (highly unlikely), then it seems like you've unfortunately been sold a pig in a poke.

my understanding is as mdoo98 says, you have to ask the question, the seller even a dealer doesnt have to declare it.
have you seen this so called welding ? crash repair involves mig welding ,replacing panels and filler...quite often not obvious to an untrained eye.
you really need to get someone in a body shop just to cast there eye over it for a true opinion,
