Domestic Water Pressure

What is the recommended pressure for a domestic water supply from the utility company?
Is there a maximum above which it must not go?
Mine has risen to 70psi and cuased leaking and damage in the house.

Unfortunately, there's no regulatory maximum limit for mains water pressure in the UK. But call your water supplier and kick up a stink. Point out that some electric showers have a safe working pressure of only 5 bar, and 70 psi is getting too close for comfort to this figure.

If they don't want to know about your problem, as a last resort, mains water pressure reduction valves are commonly available.

i have low water pressure and called united utilities who sent an inspector out. He told me my water pressure was 2bar and the minimum standard is 1.5bar. I have a worcester 240 combi boiler and get hardly any pressure from the hot tap. I recently had the boiler serviced by british gas and the engineer told me i am only getting 6 ltrs a minute from the tap and i should be getting at least 9 ltrs a minute.
