There is no way I would do what you have been asked Dee, the Customs over there are Red Hot, whoever has asked you too take these tell to forget it Especially the powdered milk, Just think about the Powder!!!!!!!
They do have cows in America so you can get a proper pint of milk you know......
Provided they are in your checked in baggage and are commercial products (ie not home made) there shouldn't be a problem.

Just declare them and you won't fall foul of customs - yes they will impound anything they don't like, but as you have declared it you won't be in trouble.

auntiebertie, yes I know you can buy milk but our room doesnt have a fridge unless we pay extra, I suppose ice from the ice machine in an ice bucket will suffice, your right though I could get delayed hours whilst they analyse the powder !
many thanks to all for the advice.
I do understand when you live away from the UK that you get cravings, I lived in Dubai for 14 years and at that time you could not get Marmite or Alka Seltzers or anyhting Cadburys, so all my visitors brought just that.

Sweet mincemeat has suet in and will definately not be allowed in as it's a meat product. I've recently returned from the USA and was given a hard time by immigration and customs. I was visiting my son for a week and customs refused to believe that I hadn't brought him any presents. Next time I'm going to put down the name of a hotel rather than a private address.

tks for the tip thugulike.
I once went to a wedding in the US, at San Francisco airport they refused to believe that I had not bought a wedding gift ! I told them that I was either going to buy in the US because it was cheaper & after I seen the wedding list or give them money, they did not believe me and searched evry inch of my luggage at the same time they also cancelled my Indefinate Stay in my passport because they said there was too much delay between the issue and the present date and obviously I was not going to live there !
very hostile they were at the time.
best rgds Dee
