Until last week I had a virginal record on AB - today when checking my profile I find that one of my answers has been deleted.
Can I find out which and why?

it may have been on a banned thread, you may have accidentally submitted an answer twice and the duplicate removed.

Same thing happened to me too craft and I didn't think I had said anything rude or out of line, especially when I read some of the things others get away with! I just assumed it was maybe I overposted or something when I was a greeny.
