Back to theme music. Whats your favourite TV theme tune one that brings back memories. I am 45 and the Dr Who theme from the Jon Pertwee era, the Robinson Crusio from the 1960s and Crown court from the mid early 70s.
The theme from TV's "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy"from the early years and more recent years "This Life" (I think it was called that, a group of young lawyers who shared a house; one was Anna, one was Egg....)
Child of the 80's it has to be Knight Rider, Airwolf, Streethawk and The A-Team, I was addicted to those shows and I still love to hear the theme tunes!
Flaming, it was indeed "This Life" with Millie, Anna, Egg, Warren Ferdy et al. The theme tune was performed by a band that I had the privilige of seeing live at the Pigeons pub in Stratford, but I forget the band name at this moment. Here's a brief reminder http://www.televisionheaven.co.uk/thislife.htm
i loved the song from prisoner cell block h " he used to bring me roses " and i have to agree with littleoldme about the littlest hobbo. totally brilliant.
One I always liked was Derek Jameson's 1984 show "Do they mean us?" - it was written (I think) by Simon May of Eastenders fame and called "People Like You". I have never heard it since...
New Dazzler: Thanks so much for the weblink. I got the "This Life" page and have added it to My Favs. I really enjoyed the drama not just the theme tune. Surprised to see the dates, though. Wow - back then? I had no idea it caused such outrage. I thought it was splendid.
In addition to the answers on a previous thread about tv themes, how about the Due South theme. That and the above mentioned Littlest Hobo, The A-Team, Knight Rider etc
Bionic Woman, Six Million Dollar Man, Manimal, Petocelli, Charlies Angels, Knight Rider. These are programs on TV when I was a teenager. also The Incredible Hulk.
Just thought of another - Chorlton & The Wheelies!
Jump in, we'll take you for a spin
And show you round the Wheelie World
Hop on, it's fun to come along
And take a look at Wheelie World
You'll be surprised how good it feels
To zoom around upon your wheels
So merrily - whoopee
You don't need a ticket 'cos we'll take you all for free
And if you see the witch Fenella
Don't be worried cos there's no cause for alarm
(ha ha ha ha)
Cos we've got Chorlton who's a dragon
He will keep you free from harm
(ho ho ho ho)
It's fun at any time of year
So put your wheels in second gear
And then hold tight - alright
We'll show you all the sights of Wheelie World
