Dominoes

I have been given a box of dominoes like I have never seen before. Unfortunatly the game came minus an instruction book so we are at a loss as how to play it. There are 91 pieces ( the correct number) and instead of them being black annd white they are multi -coloured.and have far more spots .The most on one domino is double 12.Can anyone shed any light on this strange looking set?

Thanks Stevesw.Have to rule out Mahjonng as it says Domino by cardinal on the box.

They sound like normal dominoes that go up to 12 rather than 6. You can play "match the ends up", "fives and threes" or any other domino based game with them.

Squarebear's answer sounds ok. Not being a mathematical person I wondered how 91 became the correct number of dominoes in the set. Sort of strange number! Thanks to all who have replied
