i am getting a sty on my eye anyone know how to get rid of it?

It used to be said that people who got stys were run-down.  You will know if you've been burning the candle, combined with not eating properly.  Get yourself on a one-day multi vit tab for a while and for a short time take a lot of vit c tabs or eat high vit fruit.  Curly kale is a cheap veg. and full of vits.  Your health shop would advise re the vit c tabs.  Go to one selling Solgar vits.  It ought to pull you up, especially if you smoke.  At least you shouldn't get more stys - bit late for this one though.  Meanwhile follow the advice on Jules's link.

I used to get a bowl of boiling hot water and heat up a teaspoon in it and then hold the hot teaspoon over the sty, it draws all the mucus out of it

An old wives remedy is for your mum to rub her wedding ring on it when you go to bed.

Odd but worked when I was at home!!

yes rubbing a gold ring helps. i've tried it and it does work.

I have just remembered something called 'Golden Eye Ointment' a greasy gold coloured preparation which one could apply to eye complaints.  I expect such a preparation would be frowned these days because of dipping fingers into ointment over a period of time.  Yes I do remember the holding the hot thing very near the sty or ulcer on eye-lids.  Also, boracic powder washes for eyes soreness. Hope the gold ring is wshed first!
