i can't stand easter eggs , all the ble3ding relatives buy the kids an easter egg we end up with about 50 or 60 of the blo0dy things. worse than xmas turkey!

thats a myth cheese doesnt give you nightmares. And isnt the easter egg supoosed to represent the stone that covered jesus' tomb and that they found moved away when he had been resorected. Dont quote me on that

if it is anything like a normal event I will be sat with goodies excited waiting to see their faces when I hand them out and they will look at me and say, oh I forgot, or oh I didn't know we were bothering. (like last year when I bought lovely xmas cards and didn't get one back from my daughter or fiance)

So this year I ain't going to bother!

Easter Eggs represent 'Rebirth' i.e the Resurrection....... however, they are actually a hangover from the Pagan festival of Oeastre/Eostre which took place at this time.

When Mary Magdalene went and reported the body of Jesus was missing form the tomb the centurion she saw picked up an egg (presumably one he'd been given earlier) and said if that is true this egg will turn to gold and it did (hmmh) hence why we give eggs as christians.
