Who is right?

Me and my girlfriend had a conversation about going to heaven. She maintains that she would like to meet up with all her loved ones at that time.

But I wouldn't be bothered to deal with all the arguments which people had, which would obviously continue on in the afterlife and would presumably need to be resolved.

So would you rather go to the afterlife or just decease in peace to nothingness?

Ah - but supposedly you spend time in purgatory to confess to all your wrong-doings. Only when it's all out of the way will you move on!! : )
