i am thinking about buying a slow cooker. There seems to be a choice between 3.5 lts and 6.5 lts. If i got the larger one, do they have to be filled right up to cook in them? Do you have any idea if you culd cook a meal for 4 in the smaller one? and lastly, has anyones ever blown up? I get a bit edgy abou leaving appliances on hwen im out after my washing machine caught fire
Mine is 3.7 lts and does for two although we are big eaters! I'd go for the bigger one for 4 .
No, they don't have to be full up to work properly
I've had no problems with it.
I love my slow cooker I have the bigger one and often use it to cook for 6 or 7. It's great in the winter when you want to walk in to a ready meal. Have fun.
I am on my second big un in 20 years - the last one just stopped getting hot but nothing explosive has ever happened. I make huge stews, chillies, rice puds etc etc and freeze down the extra. Also superb for making big batches of basic tomato sauce for italian dishes and I save up chicken carcasses and make stock. Wouldnt be without it its fantastic - have fun. I have also got a small one that I take to the caravan ;-)
