If you are taking your husband's surname, I suggest you make a list of all the organisations who will need to know. This could include your employer, bank, insurance company, utility providers, BT, the Inland revenue, Benefits Agency (if applicable), DVLA (car reg document and driving licence), passport, store cards, credit cards, mortgage provider/landlord, local council tax office etc, etc.
Some won't accept a photocopy of your marriage certificate and will want to see the original.....your bank is one example.....so it will be a lengthy process.
Make sure you keep a photocopy of your certificate & translation in case the original gets lost.
Good luck.
