You're assuming that time worked the way at the "begining" as it does now.
Infact time goes slower or faster depending on maytings. At the speed of light it stops.
As you go back to the begining - it stops.
It's not a question of knowing or not knowing. The question actually doesn't have a meaning.
Any more than it has a meaning to ask what "you" were doing before you were born
