can i insure and tax a car that i dont own? a freind of mine is driving her mums car and will lend me hers but it needs tax n mot can i tax and mot the car if the cars not mine??

1. Every vehicle using public roads must have a registered keeper/owner of it on DVLA files.
2. Its keeper/owner must have a current and valid certificate of insurance in force in relation to that vehicle.
3. Any road traffic violations involving that vehicle may lead to the registered keeper/owner having to become involved.
4. Your insurance cover would only be 3rd Party cover, and you could only drive the car with the owner's permission.
5. You could Tax and MOT it even if you do not own it.
