Here we go again...Sprinter53 - I appreciate I have many weeks to finish this quiz, but does that matter? I asked for help with a different question a few weeks ago and received a similar reaction. I thought the purpose of this site was to give ideas/clues, occasionally answers. I have 4 left to answer and have asked for help with 2 out of 100 - not too bad I would have thought.. Why be rude and contentious just because you are anonymous?

Sadly no! After all the aggro above, I gave up. I have answered 96 and would be very happy to give clues etc. if asked, to any of these, but nos. 19, 52, 63 and 94 have got me beaten at the moment.

I would like PORRINGERS to be the answer to 94 because it is an item of headgear and also a soup bowl, but I cannot justify it.
I agree with 'dog' for 19 - hopefully the penny will eventually drop...
As regards 63, there are so many clues and I'm sure it's not that difficult, I just have not got the message yet!

Goofy Lapis Surely this answer can be Fireguard, Best pal = dog or any other version ,and a dog can be a GUARD dog ,and guarddog gives protection. Maybe that is too straight forward Best friend comes round closely =FRIE

fireguard is what I have pencilled in for want of anything better.
However, I cannot fit in 'the Close' - and guard seems a bit airy for dog!

As regards fireguard - it does go round and it does give protection, but ...I'm not sure. I will keep trying.

Are you still stuck on 19? Forget the dog, think of a cockney word for friend and another word for close. Any ideas for me on 69, 72 42 and 52?

Before 'dog', I had thought of 'mate' (cockney rhyming slang - china plate) and got nowhere - still not there, but will keep trying! Previous AB's said it was 'dogcollar', but that is normally 2 words.

42: Find a word which means fail to pay and also relates to a country and similarly another word which can mean a maid/s.
52: I'm not 100% sure about this, but think you need a 2 letter word for exclamation of discovery and then a 6 letter word for how a stalker would follow/find its prey.
72: I think the answer is 'mattress' - too difficult to explain clues!
69: Another word for 'clue' is the answer + if you think what you do when you study, this will help.
Not brilliant clues, but I hope this helps.
