EGR valve

Hi, i have a vauxhall corsa 98 1.2 8v. I need to take the egr valve out of the engine area and clean it. the only problem is, i dont know where it is, does anyone know? if so, can you give me a rough step by step guide on how to remove it. also, what should i clean it with?

thanks darren, is it quite an easy job to do? do i need any specialist tools? So is it underneath the expansion tank?

Have done several egr valves on corsa's and the ones that the valve wasn't repaired/cleaned rather tha replaced, have come back to bite the owners where it hurts.

what do you mean woodchopper?

Hurt them in the wallet - they ended up having to install a new one as the old "repaired " one didn't last too long.
