i keep a cardboard box in the bottom of my wardrobe and throughout the year when i get any good bargains they go in the box and i have always got a birthday present ready if it's someones birthday,my son has been taking some stuff out and giving it to his girlfriends,it saves a fortune.

Sounds handy, but you're still buying stuff, so how does it save you money?

You have a lucky son mind! My brother wouldn't give his gf anything out Mam had bought! He's really fussy over her, and, well, he shouldn't be!
It's OK if mum's got a good eye for gifts. If not...not so good!!
My Mam has a good eye for gifts, she works at Boots, but mainly, even those gifts arent personal!

great idea slinky I too keep gifts in store for occasions. Yes it saves money as I buy them when on offer so when birthdays come the present is a bargain I have already got that may not be on offer at the time. Any hey princess wouldnt worry about your bro as long as he buys presents for his gf

slinkycat, cant keep up with his social life.OH its just started pouring with rain and the dog is locked in the garden
Might just be me, but I would prefer to give (and receive lol) presents that had been bought specially with the person in mind, not just cos they are a bargain.
