how much top soil do i need

I am making a raised area infront of my house. At the moment the groung is rock solid and as I only want to grow bedding plants there I have decided to build a raised area using rocks and fill it with top soil. How much topsoil would I need to fill an area 6ft by 6ft and 6inches deep please

A cubic metre which I think is about a tonne, but break up the the existing surface as a drain-aid, it all helps.
