Find out if there are any social activities from where you work - if not, why not instigate something? Maybe bowling, or a drink after work, will give you a chance to meet ladies in a socail setting, and get to know them, and for them to get to know you. Why not have a small dinner party, and ask some male friends to bring an unarttatched lady each, and see what develops from that? Word of warning - if you come over as 'desparate', any woman will sense it a mile off! Try to be friendly, burt don't be pushy - rememebr a girlfriend who more of a 'friend' than some sort of social accessory will be more likely to stay in a relationship.
Wow kudos for having the balls to admit to that but why do you want a girlfriend???? Ask yourself that first! Is it for companinship or are you after a sexual relationship and why not as andy has suggested try to join a club or social setting where you can make some new friends and some of them may happen to be women. and consider this you have one advantage over some of us who have had partners, you've never had the pain of a broken heart.

It might help people to answer your question if you could give some idea of why you think you have never had a girlfriend. Is it that you have tried and failed, or have you not been particulary bothered until now? If you've tried, what did you try? Is there something about you that women find unattractive (and that's not meant to be insulting - there are very few men in the "god's-gift-to-women" category)? Do you have any female friends? One thing to consider is that when you do find a girlfriend (and I'm sure you will), don't be in a rush to make a committment. With your lack of experience it would be very easy to make a mistake. I know, I've been there!
