The alternative of having Harriet Harman in charge would put the Labour party in a downward tailspin.

Those that agree with Brown sit round the same cabinet table and as its a collective government they should agree with most of the decisions. Its the only way to run a government else there would be chaos!

There again, what's the alternative? The Eton playboys? (Cameron+Osborne), champions of the common (billionaire) man.

Or the yes, no, maybe, err, perhaps, wishy washies of Cleggie+"Compo" Cable? (Aren't they in Last of the Summer Wine?).

I wouldn't mind Cable as PM, he seems to have a few clues and he's funny. The rest, no thanks.

As for fawning over Brown, they're just telling the truth: there isn't anyone better - in Labour or the Tories.

It is easy to sit back and say "they" are all rubbish.

"they" are just human like the rest of us.

If you think it is that easy form another party and get yourself elected.

But I fear that 'they' are not, as you say, VHG, like the rest of us. I would hope that the rest of us possess, at the very least, decent principles. As Paraffin says, be honest, would you vote for any of these muppets?

This is a tricky time to be a Labour MP. As things stand at the moment, there is the likelihood that a lot of them will lose their jobs at the next election and they are stuck as to what is the best thing to do to keep them.

The question is, are they more likely to keep their jobs with Brown or without Brown in charge of their party?

Most of them are not very bright anyway and are usually told what to think and vote for, they now find they have a difficult decision to make all on their own.

It is all getting a bit messy and not very dignified and is an unedifying spectacle.
