For no apparent reason all my contacts in Windows Live Messenger 8.1 disappeared yesterday. In my wisdom, I deleted and then re-installed. Now I have Windows Live Messenger with my Photo....A different name and One contact I have never heard of.......Any help out there please?

You need to check about some spyware and malware infection on your computer.
You should scan your computer with Malwarebyte Antimalware :

Hi Guys, Microsoft Support have sent me a link which rid the offending problem and re-installed all my original contacts & addresses.
