fiesta cuts out

every time i start the car[fiesta sapphire m-reg],it cuts out and i have to wait approx 2 minutes before re trying.When i do get it started, it cuts out when i take my foot of the gas pedal.Any ideas what my problem is and what can i do to fix it?

Hi there,

 

I had a fiesta as my first car and I think I may have had the same problem......if I can remeber correctly, to keep the engine running, I had to rev the engine quite hard, but I could hear a sort of noise like air escaping. It turned out to be just a simple pipe having come out of its place which was where the air was escaping from. I don't recall which pipe it was, but it was near the back of the engine, near the windscreen if you see what I mean. This may be completely irrelevant, but I hope it helps! It may be worth checking that all your air pipes etc are connected before you have to spend lots of money taking it to a garage!
