I have rashes on my back which sometimes itch but they only appear round my hips and round my shoulder blades, just where the underwear line is. It can't be the material because I have used the underwear for a while now and have only just developed these rashes. Could it be shingles ? I do suffer from ezema but only on my arms never on my back.

i think you have prickly heat it comes in all sorts..sometimes it blisters sometimes you scratch it and it bleeds and gets infected..i am a sufferer of this..and antihistamines help..if its really seriouse go to the doctor and get some strong antihistamine and some antibiotics and ointment....as you have eczema it could still be that i would get your doctor to look..i am really carefull what washing powder i use the same as bath products and try to wear as much cotton as possible..its a right pain..if its hot i bath 3 times a day to keep my skin cool..and thats about all you can do try to help the condition..you have to be carefull with what you eat and drink also when its hot as that comes out in your skin also..

oxeyedaisy is right - it sounds like prickly heat.  I get it to around the hips and shoulders.  Do take her advice.

It's definitely not shingles.  Shingles is a rash of blisters and causes extreme deep pain and makes you feel very unwell.

I get small little rashes sometimes but it is from my pill, are you on the pill? I find when i have a break off them they go and when i go back on them they appear in another place.

Thanks guys I'll go purchase some strong antihistamines I think. No I'm not on the pill been off it for over a year now. I'd have never assumed it could b prickley heat though because my friend suffers from this and they r spots where mine appear in rash/scab form (ugly black markings)
evertonsue:  The rash I have at the top of my hips and waistline  is like the one you describe - I assumed it's because I tend to scratch it in my sleep - I do make it bleed.  It may be a mix of eczma and prickly heat - I am an eczma sufferer too.
would you have changed your washing powder by any chance evertonsue? Being the allergic person that I am, that would make a difference when analyzing causes etc.
