Sin + Mon + E = Simone ?
pi err e

Thanks for your help both - I think Simone fits best

Pierre as he's a fellow! Simone is a lady isn't she?
Pi ==holy E=English with err in the middle. Where do you get holy in simone?
Pi (holy) err (mistake admitted/inside) + E (English) = Pierre (fellow in France)
If Simone fits then you have 19d wrong - Urchin.
sorry flicrat, your answers weren't there when I started typing:o)
Pierre must be right as i was working on the letters given
