Little furry things

I'm looking at one of those little furry things, the size of a walnut (wait until I finish you lot! Honestly, minds like a sewer..) with goggly eyes and a long piece of ribbon that has a slogan on it. What are they called? They have sticky bits on their feet so that people can stick them to the dashboard of their cars or on top of their monitors.

Hi Glossopswift, if I am thinking of the same things as you, I used to supply them as part of my old job. We referred to them as "Bugs" and they belonged as part of the promotional products ranges. I managed to find a few pics by sticking 'promotional product bugs' into Google. Sorry, can't post you a link though!

My friends and I always called them Googly Bugs, because of the eyes, but I'm sure everyone has a different name for them.  I've still got a ladybug one the I got when i was about 10!

Nooooooo - gonks are bigger and they're the size of cuddly toys.  Most kids in the 80s made gonks at school.  Bugs (or googly bugs) are what Glossopswift is looking for.  (About 1-2" across right, plus the "tail"/ribbon?) They're probably worth a bob or two now on ebay - wish I'd kept them.

Yup, bugs is what they are. A friend in marketing consulted her catalogue. I agree that gonks are the larger things that were won on fairgrounds.Thanks all for replying
