Is AB what it was.?
6 Answers
It is my opinion that AB has 'gone to pieces'.!
The Editor appears to be non-existant and there seems to be a number of technical problems with the site. Furtheremore, whilst I feel that the original site was established as one from which sensible answers would be given to reasonable questions, it is the case that it has become a virtual venue for rude respondents.
Accordingly, as I am thinking of 'throwing in the towel' and thereby ceasing my membership of AB, I propose keeping quiet for the remainder of the Bank Holiday weekend, and leave it to anyone who wishes to comment; with a view to the attention of AB's Editorial and Technical staffs being drawn to the opinions of sensible serious subscribers...........Ron

I'm not sure why the Ed hasn't responded to your many emails though.
I actually find most responses to be reasonably helpful- there are a few rude respondents but outside Chatterbank it's generally not a problem in my view.
Hope the Ed responds soon.

I suppose this is a good example of the infantile type of abusive posting on AB:

Let's see how quickly this is dealt with.
But at least it's under Chatterbank and you could argue CB readers know what to expect.

Is it really bad enough to 'throw your towel in'? There are quite a small number of contributors that mar the site and they do congregate in the CB area.
Keeping away from this area and ignoring the infantile antics its the best way to enjoy the bits of the site you like.
The layout of the site is quite user friendly compared to others and there has been some effort of moderation recently.
I will keep hold of my towel till the next version to see if things improve.
If its no better, then I am right behind you.
