How do I store 80 tracks of music onto my MP3 player.

When you connect your player to your pc, it should show it as an addidtional drive.You can then drag and drop your music into the new drive.I found it easier to create a folder with all the songs I wanted, and then just dragged the folder onto the new drive.You will need about a 512mb player to store 80 mp3,s.

Unless it plays wma's,then you can get nearly double that.

Can you download your own cd's ?  A mate of mine said mp3 players cant do that, and that you have to buy each and every track online. He said only ipod's can download your own cd's. Is he right?

No he isn't. Simply rip your CDs using Windows Media Player onto your HDD in mp3 form. The ripped tracks will appear in My Music folder.

Then simply:

a) drag them into your mp3 player or

b)right click the file and send to your mp3 player or

c)Synchronize your mp3 player with Windows media player and let it transfer them automatically

If you use methods a) or b) its easier to do as TEAK 36 suggested and create a new folder for them first.

Cheers dogdyshirt, I will put him right. I am going to show my ignorance again. What is a HDD?  And can you use Roxio easy cd creator instead of windows? Thanks for the help!

HDD is an abbreviation for HarD Drive.

Roxio is used for creating Cds as its name suggests.

 By far the simplest method is the one I outlined using Windows Media Player which is a freely available part of Windows and is unbelievably versatile if you bother to explore its capabilities.
