Lump in my left side

About two years ago I went to my GP because at night when I laid down on my left side I felt as though I was laying on an egg. It didn't hurt, was just uncomfortable. She sent me for a ultra sound scan at the hospital and they couldn't see anything at all. I recently went for a different sort of scan, on the front of my abdomen. When the technician pressed hard I felt a really bad shooting pain down the left hand side front of my body. Also, it now feels like I am laying on a melon, rather than an egg. I don't want to be paranoid, but I am wondering if I should go back to my doctor again.

Of course. Could be nothing more than a lump of hard fat (I have a few, and they hurt if I press) but you should always check these things out.
Felt as if you were laying an egg? Are you chicken? Anyway, yes, take it to your GP. It may or may not be connected with what you had checked last time, but anything that feels like a melon needs looking into.
So, what was the result of your recent scan and for what was it performed?

sqad617 - it was a routine scan for abdominal aortic aneurysm, got letter because of my age. Haven't got results yet. Had it done really because I had a friend who fell down dead in the street with an aneurysm, scared all us friends. I know really I have to go back to docs, will make appointment. Thanks all for your replies.
