Did you have your baby on your due date?

I'm due to have mine next Saturday and wondered if other ladies babies were born on their due date, before or after?

my daughter was born on her exact due date.....crept in by 2 hours......she's never been on time since....

with 1st - went into labour 7 days late - he was born 10 days late at 9lb 13oz.

2nd was an elective section booked in 1 week before my due date (8lb 3oz)

Both my sister's kids were 3 weeks early.

Wowsers, where's the time gone? Can't believe it's next Saturday for you! Baby Picky (the original) was induced after being 13 days late (and weighing in at 9lb 1oz) and Baby Picky 2 is due on the 16th July, although at the midwife this week he/she was head down and I was measuring 37 weeks (at 34). Eeekkk! Good luck, keep us updated!!

I remember when 'er indoors was expecting ours we were told that most babies are late.

That doesn't make sense to me!

Hi Picky, the Midwife reckoned I was measuring 38 weeks at 36. I take it yours measured your bump with a tape measure?

I went on a course of Antenatal classes, which were run by a Obstetric Physiotherapist, she said the measuring thing was very outdated and inaccurate.

Hope your second pregnancy is going well? I'll let you know when my little one makes an appearance.

wot do midwives do with tape measures - never heard of that; I got 'dilation' figures - thought they were talking about the eyes ;)

My daugter was 7 days late and wieghed 7lbs10.5, which is 0.5oz lighter that I was, but I was born 21 days early.

It was with the tape, so who knows what is really is! I'm wearing 2 clothes sizes smaller during this pregnancy than last time so I can't even compare really against what I was (or wasn't!) fitting in at this point last time! The pregnancy is going well really, the SPD is a bit of a nightmare and as you know I lost my Dad 6 weeks ago, so it's been a pretty distressing time, although I know you know what I'm going through :0(

Hope you're feeling ok and not too nervous about the birth - just remember, if it was that bad, no one would do it for the 2nd time! You'll be fine, can't wait for your arrival news!

Baby one was 9 days early but I think that was because OH and I moved double bed out of bedroom the night before ready for new carpet to be fitted !! Baby 2 was 2 days late and baby 3 was 3 days early . Got to say all very very fast labours never more than 2 hours. OH says that when he sees babies being born on TV it looks very controlled with me he said we should have had a catcher at end of the bed. Have a happy labour , seriously I enjoyed mine.

Hi Picky, I'm glad your pregnacy is going well. I know how hard it is for you now, I still miss my mum and miss the phone chats we had several times per day. I especially regret she will never get to meet her Grandson and vice versa, but I look on my pregnancy as God sent, a way of helping me to cope with her death which was nearing.

I also have SPD which can be uncomfortable, but seems to be better since I went on Maternity Leave from work and I'm getting lots of rest. Baby is due this Saturday, but I've been booked in for a Membrane Sweep next Friday if nothing happens.

He/she is due on the 16th July, so long too long to go! I'm not finishing work until the 9th (in theory!), although I'm taking some holidays first, just spending some time with my Mum, bless her.
I had 2 sweeps with baby Picky the original, neither worked for me, but I know they do work for some so you might as well give it a go if Mini V hasn't made his appearance! I keep checking to see how you're getting on, will be so excited for you when he does make an appearance! Let us know how you're going and take care
