Taking cuttings from a raspberry bush
We've got a lovely big mature raspberry bush in our garden, but we're moving house and would love to grow raspberries in our new house too. Does anyone know if it's possible to take cuttings and get them to grow in a pot until we can plant it in our new garden? Given the age ans size of the bush i don't think digging it up wholesale is an option. Also, when would be the best time to do this, as it's just started fruiting, the berries will be ready in about 6 weeks.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Place the tip of a stem in the hole, you can do more than one at a time if you have sufficient stems that will reach the ground. Bury the tip of the stem at least 2 cms below soil surface. You can tie it to a stick to keep it in place, or put a small rock on it. You should see a new shoot growing in only a few weeks. When good root has developed, you can cut it from the parent plant and try it in a pot. In theory, you are supposed to let it grow in situ for a season, but as you are moving house, you wont have time. I dont know if this will work because you will be digging up the new plant far too soon really but it might be worth a try.
