Is it legal for a company (retail outlet) to put your name up on the staff notice board for not meeting a target at your workplace, this target in not a production target , but rather a target to show that you have caught people out trying to switch lables on items as they pass through your till. the shop is in scotland, and my partner has had to suffer this indignity twice in the past 5 months

Did you check the businesslink website? It sets out clearly what amounts to bullying of an employee. Mind you - setting targets for identifying label switching? Just how much 'label switching' is going on up there? It must be rife for them to set everyone a target. And how are you supposed to spot it? Do they give training? Surely the employees don't take it seriously? They should discuss it with each other & have a good laugh about it. The shop should set targets that relate to rational business practice. This sounds plain doss, y' ken.
