I just wondered if anyone has had CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) and did it make any difference?

I had had several CBT sessionsfor depression and it definitely worked for me.
It did take a while and I did think it wasn't working but I started to notice a difference after a couple of months.
I finished my CBT last year and it's amazing how it still makes a difference in teaching you how to recognise your emotions and how to deal with them.
I think with anything though, its effects will differ from person to person but everyone I've talked to has benefited from it.
Hope all goes well.

Thank you babycombo and lady_miss_v After suffering from depression on and off for more than 30 years I finally went to my GP and asked for help. 5 months on, after they cancelled appointments, I have been referred to CBT.. I have realised my depression is triggered by situations and all I want is help in "how to deal" when I feel low (lack of motivation being the main problem, plus severe weight loss hence, at my age, excessive skin due to no activity). I am well at present but I am determined to carry on and |I will see how it goes. Many Thanks.
