Just been reading in the Daily Mail - Jack Straw has turned down Biggs' for parole because he is 'totally unrependant'

Isn't it a shame the same attitude is not shown towards murderers, rapists, child abusers and terrorists.

I don't think Biggs would pose any threat to society, unlike some of the other scum walking the streets.

Exactly den,a lot of folk would disagree and start going on about the dead drivers family which is fair enough,but your point about sex offenders is spot on, i cant really remember murderes and terrorists being given freedom quick,unless you mean after their sentence which if served,then their debt has been repaid surely?

Not many of them get 25 years like the train robbers did.

But then stealing money will always be more important than taking a life in our society........................

Heard on the radio it was more to do with the train driver - his injuries received at the time contributed to his early death.

Personal thoughts he didn't give 2 hoots about the establishment and that's the reason.

Sorry, mate, think you've missed the point: Biggs was obviously not prepared to lie whereas the other scum probably swear blind they're so sorry that the gullible prats fling the prison gates open wide and sling them out.

However, I've never been in favour of Biggs being released simply because he's elderly and in poor health, but that's another story.

But you certainly hit the nail on the head about the risk factor posed by a lot of the pond life jettisoned back into society, many to re-offend, often with horrific consequences.

I'm fed up metaphorically puking up as you hear yet another council/social services/probation apologist cacking on about how "lessons must be learned". If I hear that again, I'll......I'll....I'll.......aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!

The train driver, although one of the gang hit him on the head, (not Biggs), died several years later from Leukaemia. Biggs could hardly be blamed for that. Nothing really adds up in this refusal when one of the Kray twins was released when he was very ill, and he had done far worse than Biggs ever did. The sentencing in this country is all out of proportion to the crime, especially when 3 years is deemed sufficient for the death of a child. I despair.

Biggs should die in prison.

He refuses to show remorse, and when he should have been serving his sentence he was living the high life in exile and royally taking the p!ss out of us.

Had he served his time when originally sentenced, he'd've been a free man for many years by now.

I couldn't care any less if I tried that he is not a threat and is in poor health - he deserves to die in prison.

All the time he was in good health he was happy to live in exile, yet as soon as he became ill, he wanted to come 'home' to suckle from our teats.

The man is scum.

I think there will always be differences of opinion on any controversial subject, and as each person is entitled to their own opinion and is not likely to change it, or change anyone elses opinion. It turns out to be a rather pointless exercise.
