My dad used to drink in the Derby Arms but one of the first pubs I used to drink in, when I was 17, was across the road, right on the racecourse. called The Rubbing House. They used to have a disco there on Friday and Saturday nights, but that was a very long time ago. Don't know if it's still there though.
Can't for the life of me remember the one at Tattenham Corner but didn't drink there as it was more food orientated.

The rubbing house?...........no dont know that one!
I'm sure the one at Tat corner was called/ is called Tattenham arms and you're right, it was more of a place to eat and have a drink, much like the Derby arms had changed into.
Enjoy your evening, lovely, and hope you're now relaxing with your fine wine.
love to you from the bear xxx
