Wheat intolerance

I think I've developed an intolerance to wheat over the past year or so, as my stomach becomes uncomfortable and bloated after eating bread and pasta etc. Why would I 'suddenly' develop such an intolerance after eating these foods all my life and does anyone suffer similarly who has been helped by taking a food intolerance test etc?

It may well be that you've had the intolerance all your life and only now are the symptoms getting noticeable enough to bother you. My Dad was doagnosed with coelic disease when he was 60 when his whole system nearly shut down and he ended up in intensive care for two weeks. However, once you've had it confirmed with a biopsy, it's a completely manageable condition.
Several years ago, a homeoepath concluded that I had a wheat intolerance. Although dubious, I cut out wheat from my diet and did feel better, including suffering much less from joint/back problems. Be aware though, that during the first few weeks of avoiding wheat I became hypersensitive to it and, on a couple of occasions, became very ill when I inadvertently ate food containing wheatflour. Now though, I do eat bread and pasta occasionally and I seem OK. I don't think that wheat intolerance necessarily means coelic disease - wheat intolerance is the most common food intolerance in adults, probably because most people eat so much of it. I would think that the best test is to cut out wheat and see if you feel better.
After feeling bloated and heavy after eating bread and cheese i paid for an allergy test in August, when i was diagnosed as having an intolerance to all dairy products yeast and coffee, i was advised to have a 2 month detox from my 'banned' foods, after 1 week i felt better i had more energy and felt generally lighter i lost a few pounds in weight, i can now tolerate yeast again (hooray) although i dont have bread every day, i'm still not eating chocolate or cheese or eggs as i just dont miss them, if you are pretty confident that you know what foods are making you feel bloated just cut them out for a couple of weeks to see if you feel any better, my allergy test cost �43 but it was money well spent to me.
