MM and KM Links July 2009 [Week 4]

Welcome to this the fourth and final week of Link Words set by Queen Julia and what an easy month it has been for me! Joolscould almost "fly solo". I am fully expecting a "tenderfoot" to carry off the July MM Crown and become the link setter throughout the month of August. I'll be looking out for the two or three contenders in line for the throne.

Lately there seems to have been some debate about whether the scoring for MM Links should be the same as that for KM Links (without the time-dependent element). The argument appears to rest on the fact that some entrants find it very difficult/almost impossible to be available at 9.00am when the game is launched (for example, because of work commitments). I would prefer to keep the scoring as it is, since if any entrant finding it difficult to be available at launch time were to WIN, then they would also find it difficult to be available to launch the game over the 4 or 5 weeks of their reign.

Hence, tomorrow it should be business as usual with the MM posting opening at 8.45am and the four words to be linked being declared at 9.00am for the final leg in the July/Julia game. Do look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at an earlier time (but time here is not a significant factor). This is organised by our very own �Bushbaby� and �Sheila from Down Under�, seekeerz aka Steff. Why not chance your arm at both Link Games? They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and recorded on master scoreboards.

Excuse a newbie butting in, please. If there is no time element, does it matter if the game is launched before 9 am? Couldn't anyone who has to go to work (what's that?) early, post their links before they go? It would also mean that retired idle beings like us could loaf around a bit longer!

Same with me Jan, don't know when I last scored a point !!! If links start any earlier it means crofter will have to get out of bed a bit earlier and now he's a Granddad he may need the extra time in bed !!!!
