Strange reaction

What would you do if your other half told you that someone of the opposite sex, had sent them a text, after passing them in the street, asking how they were etc and then saying, stay sexy, and keep tellng that fella/woman of yours how lucky he/she is xx......Im always honest about things and told my fella about this, and he laughed his head off, no questions, just laughing...I found this reaction rather odd, and am wondering if he cares at all. I suppose I did say it to see how he would react as hes been a little distant with me lately, so started doubting things

if you are claiming a stranger texted you out of the blue, just by walking past you then thats why hes laughing - because thats not possible and he therefore knows its a lie.
