I have a cross border terrier/shihtzu. He's a great little fellow but when I first got him I noticed that sheath of his penis seemed to be flat on his stomach. As he's grown the situation has worsened and the tip of his penis is constantly exposed. I have taken him to the vet who showed me diagrams of the operation that his would have to have to rectify the situation (It's not for the faint-hearted). Obviously there is always the risk of infection and I am worried about him. The vet has told me to leave it for the moment to see how things go. Has anyone had a dog with a similar problem and how did you deal with it. I would be grateful for some advice. Thanks in advance.

I cringed when I read your post - the poor wee dog.

I hope that things go back to the way that they should be soon and he doesn't experience any pain due to this.

Best wishes.

Griff and I thank you for your concern Susan x
How old is he? I would not expect it to rectify itself if he is over three months or so, and would be getting it put right by the vet, as apart from being uncomfortable it can lead to infection or injury.
