Icons have disappeared :-(

Help.............all the little icons that normally appear in the bottom right of my computer have vanished. How do I retreive them as I can't see if my security is working or anything.

Try pressing your F11 key on the very top row of your keyboard.

Click View at the very top of your screen, and then make sure status bar is ticked.

take the cursor down to bottom of screen as low as it will go....the taskbar should re-appear.

I clicked on view but there wasn't anything that said status bar that i could tick.
Also, the curser thing hasn't worked. I think i'll have to reboot. Thanks anyway everyone.

Did you click toolbars after clicking View?

There is toolbar and toolbar options. which one do i press ?

On toolbar you should see 'lock the taskbar' at end of menu....click that to 'unlock' the taskbar.

right click the taskbar | properties | notification area
tick "hide inactive Icons"
then click customize

you'll see a list of progs ... probably saying always hide
you need to change each one you want to see to either
hide when inactive ... or always show

right click on the desktop | properties | desktop | customise desktop | untick run cleanup wizard every 60 days.

this should make sure nothing vanishes again

I don't know what I did but I have managed to retreive them, but now they are all bunched up in the bottom corner ! I suppose that is better than it was though !!
