Well, the one I would most definitely recommend is the Hoover Brush n Wash. It has four brushes which really get deep into the pile of the carpet. It also comes with accessories for stairs & upholstery. It leaves the carpet virtually dry & when you tip away the dirty water, well, it makes you feel disgusted!! I bought my machine several years ago & it comes out once a year at least to freshen/clean the carpets, brilliant machine. It is still available but do believe it has been discontinued so stock is pretty low in some places. Google the name & it should come up with stockists that still have it. Its not the cheapest but as far as I'm concerned, you can't get better cleaner than this. Hope this helps.
id recommend a George it looks like a henry hoover (little red thing) but its a green one called George my mum uses it at work and she has to clean expensive carpets its really good
