M.O.T Testers Licence

I'm currently in the process of preparing to take my M.O.T testers license exam. Although i've got time served in the motor trade allowing me to apply I have no qualifications and there fore have to take the 'MOT Training - NTTA' test to move forward to the next level.

To help me prepare there is a series of questions on the Vosa web sight at this link;

Is there any one who has gone this direction who can give any advice on how to prepare properly, or are there any books out there which can help me obtain the correct knowledge using also the correct terminology that VOSA require, as although my experience and ability is there I find i'm am using different descriptions. There are also a few questions that until now have never actually needed to know theanswer to.

Dont know if you got any answers yet, but the book you want is Hillier's Fundamentals of Motor Vehicle Technology 4th edition. I'd say from experience you couldnt pass the exam without reading the book....even if only for the terminology. All the answers are in the book if you read the relevant sections.

I am 30 years in the trade and thought I knew more than most, but without the book, I'd have answered half the test wrong methinks..

Good luck, and once you have answered a question in the test, don't go back to it again, cos you will end up talking your self out of the correct answer.
