Are there any foods which can help prevent or minimise the effects of hayfever, and also are there any foods I should be avoiding which could make the symptons worse ? Thanks.

I have heard that eating locally produced honey helps, but as I don't have hayfever myself I don't know for sure.
yes locally produced honey can help but you have to use it often and a long time before the hayfever season starts, try eating as many natural and homemade foods as possible all the additives and chemicals in our everday food causes lots of allergys.

Make tea from lemon balm (try american ebay) and drink at least a cup a day

hayfever is your immune system reacting to a foreign invader, so you need to strengthen it (the immune system that is!) - you can use among others, echinacea, garlic, vit c.

You should check with your doctor or an allergy expert. A friend of mine told me that the food from the same group/family of plant you're allergic to can give you a small allergic reaction or make it worse. Unfortunately I can't remember what she said about it, other than if you're allergic to birch you shouldn't have Benjamin's Fig in your house.

BTW I just checked a website to find tha name of the Benjamin's fig and it said that you should have them at all if you have astma or allergies!
